Why We Make Our Own Coco-Soy-Beeswax Blend—and Why It Matters

Why We Make Our Own Coco-Soy-Beeswax Blend—and Why It Matters

The secret to a luxury burn? It starts before the candle is ever lit.

There are easier ways to make a candle.

We could buy a ready-made wax, add fragrance and call it finished. But when we began developing Forte, “good enough” wasn’t the goal. We wanted a candle that looked beautiful, held fragrance well and burned the way a thoughtfully made candle should.

So we created our own proprietary coco-soy-beeswax blend.

Not because proprietary blend sounds impressive. Because no single wax gave us everything we wanted.

Why blend three waxes?

Each wax brings something different to the composition.

Coconut wax gives the candle its smooth, creamy appearance and helps create a beautiful melt pool. Soy wax adds structure and supports a steady, even burn. A touch of beeswax gives the blend additional firmness and stability—especially important in South Florida, where “room temperature” has a very different meaning.

Together, they create the texture, fragrance experience and burn performance we wanted for Forte.

It took months of testing to get there... months!

Wax is only one part of the burn. A candle is a system. The wax, fragrance, wick and vessel all affect one another, which means changing even one element can change the entire burn.

Every Forte fragrance is tested in our wax blend and in the vessel it will actually be sold in. We watch how the flames behave, how the melt pool develops, how the fragrance opens as the candle warms and how the candle performs beyond the first burn.

That matters even more with our double-wick Prism Collection. The wick size and placement have to work with the diameter of the iridescent glass, the wax and the individual fragrance—not simply look balanced from above.

It is slower than using one formula and one wick for every scent. But it gives us far more control over the finished experience.

What does that mean when you light it?

Our blend is designed to support:

A clean, steady burn when the candle is cared for properly

An even melt pool

Consistent fragrance release

A smooth, creamy finish

A candle that feels considered before and after it is lit

Because luxury is not only how a candle smells in the jar. It is the flame, the way the fragrance moves through the room, the feel of the glass in your hand and the atmosphere it creates once the lights are low and the playlist is on.

Natural wax can look natural

Because we work with a natural-wax blend, you may occasionally notice slight frosting or variation in how the wax adheres to the glass. These small cosmetic changes are normal and do not affect the candle’s performance.

We would rather work with the character of the materials than chase a perfectly manufactured appearance at the expense of the experience we spent months creating.

Not poured. Composed.

Making our own wax blend is one of the less visible parts of Forte, but it shapes everything that follows. The fragrance. The wick. The vessel. The melt pool. The burn.

Every detail has a role in the composition—and the wax is where it begins.

This is my Forte. What's yours?
